Representatives of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University – appreciated with distinctions by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova

”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy was awarded the Diploma of Gratitude of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), in appreciation of promoting excellence in education and research in the field of medicine and pharmacy, of significant contribution to the training and formation of the younger generation in the spirit of national cultural values, as well as on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the institution's founding. The diploma was handed over to First Vice-Rector Olga Cernetchi by the ASM President, Academician Ion Tighineanu, during the ASM Award Laureates Gala, organized annually in the context of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, on November 10, 2025. 

At the same time, several scientific and didactic staff members and researchers of Nicolae Testemitanu University were awarded medals and diplomas by the ASM, for their outstanding scientific, practical, managerial and didactic achievements, the training of highly qualified specialists and the promotion of science at the national and international level. 

The Natalia Gheorghiu award in the field of medicine was granted to University Professor Gheorghe Gincu, Habilitated Doctor of Medical Sciences for "Medical-surgical tactics in congenital malformations and surgical diseases of the hepatobiliary system in children" series of papers. 

The Gheorghe Paladi award in the field of medicine was granted to University Professor Olga Cernetchi, Habilitated Doctor of Medical Sciences for "Reproductive Health" series of papers. "This award represents not only a recognition of our work, but also a duty to continue the legacy left by Professor Gheorghe Paladi", said Olga Cernetchi. 

The academic institution honored the following professors and associate professors with distinctions and diplomas:

"Dimitrie Cantemir" Medal – Vitalie Ojovan, Vladimir Valica and Victor Cojocaru;

"Nicolae Milescu Spatarul" Medal – Nicolae Bodrug, Oleg Pascal, Andrei Galescu, Adrian Belii, Eugen Melnic, Adrian Hotineanu, Oleg Solomon and Olga Tagadiuc;

"Academic Merit" Diploma – Jana Chihai, Nicolae Ghidirim, Ion Bahnarel and Nicolae Caproș;

Diploma of Honor – Alexandru Corlateanu;

Diploma of Gratitude – Elena Raevschi and Diana Calaras;

Diploma of Excellence – Sanda Buruiana;

Diploma "Promoter of authentic European values" – Mihail Todiras.

At the same time, in the context of Science for Peace and Development: Creativity, Experience, Perspectives Research and Innovation Festival, now at its 4th edition, an exhibition of scientific results obtained between 2024-2025 by universities and research institutions of our country was organized. Thus, monographs, collections, presentations and posters were exhibited, as well as interactive workshops were held, with the support of representatives of several university subdivisions: the Research Department, the Health Sciences Library, the Gastroenterology Laboratory, the Tissue Engineering and Cell Culture Laboratory, the Hygiene Discipline within the Department of Preventive Medicine, the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry, the Department of Philosophy and Bioethics, the Cardiology Discipline, the Department of Mental Health, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy, the Scientific and Practical Center in the Field of Medicinal Plants, the Genetics Laboratory within the Center for Personalized Medicine, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, the Department of Pediatrics, the Department and Laboratory of Endocrinology, the Discipline of Geriatrics and Occupational Medicine, Ion Lupan Department of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pedodontics, Pavel Godoroja Department of Dental Propaedeutics and Ilarion Postolachi Department of Orthopedic Dentistry .
